Jacob Bright is chalking up the honors on playing fields and in the classroom.

Bright plays football and baseball at Excelsior Springs High School, where he carries a 3.975 grade point average. His classwork work has allowed him to be a part of National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, principal’s honor roll and SkillsUSA. He also has garnered academic all-state and allconference honors for both football and baseball.

In athletics, Bright has helped Excelsior Springs claim back-to-back Class 4 District 15 baseball titles. This spring, he was the starting right fielder for the Tigers, who placed third in the Class 4 state tournament.

“I really enjoy playing baseball because there is a smaller number of boys on the team and you are able to build such a close bond with everyone on the team,” said Bright, who’s part of the Excelsior Springs class of 2024.
