Casler has high hopes for ES career
Josie Casler has her athletic goals set for this school year at Excelsior Springs High School – and beyond.
Casler, who’ll start her sophomore year when classes get underway in August, is a returning letterwinner in two sports at Excelsior Springs. She plans to continue reaching for personal accomplishments and team goals, she said.
“I never would have thought I would have accomplished as much as I did in a single season, and now, I hope to help bring home a district championship by the time I graduate,” she said.
Like her first year of high school, Casler plans to play softball and girls basketball. As a first-year high schooler, she received honorable mention all-district, first-team all-conference and team offensive Most Valuable Player honors in softball.
“Softball is my favorite sport because I have been playing for so long and it allows me to build relationships with girls I would not have met otherwise,” she said.
