Indirectly, Excelsior Springs can claim a share of Seattle’s latest Super Bowl title.
As multiple media outlets recently reported, the Seahawks’ coaching staff includes Mack Brown, a metro area native who played college football at Baker University and coaches Seattle’s tight ends. As it also was reported, Brown’s father is Excelsior Springs alumnus Sam Brown. The elder Brown, who played college football at the University of Missouri in Columbia and coached for many years, is a Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and Excelsior Springs Athletic Hall of Fame member.
‘ROUGH TOURNAMENT’ Excelsior Springs “had a rough tournament overall” at the Sixth Winnetonka Girls Invitational, according to
coach Scott Schwab.
“We have several injuries and held a few girls due to match count,” Schwab stated Monday via email.
