For Excelsior Springs varsity volleyball coach Cindy Price, the Tigers’ 3-1 loss to Odessa Oct. 23 in the Class 3 District 15 Tournament marked the last time she got to coach this season’s corps of seniors.That corps included her daughter Jordin. “Just being up close and having a front-row seat to all of the things has been fantastic for me personally,” Cindy Price said minutes after the defeat at Excelsior Springs in the single-elimination, postseason tournament.The veteran coach knows what it’s like to play for a parent. In high school at Savannah, her tennis coach was her dad, Tom Lewis, she recalled.“I don’t know that I appreciated it in the moment,” she said. “But looking back on it, I really appreciated him and his guidance.
