Collins keeps perfect season going with title run at OG
Cooper Collins remains undefeated entering the boys wrestling postseason.The Excelsior Springs junior finished the regular season 33-0. He capped his perfect run by winning the 138-pound division title at the Panther Classic, a Feb. 8 tournament hosted by Oak Grove.Collins went 4-0 at Oak Grove. He collected two wins by fall, another by medical forfeit and finished with a 12-6 decision over Grain Valley’s Colston Parks in the title match.Collins was one of two Excelsior Springs champions. Senior Justin Wright went 3-0 to claim the 285 title and finish the regular season 27-5.Wright and Collins were among eight Excelsior Springs grapplers to place in the top four.
