Cramer, Overholtzer secure spots at state
Landon Cramer knows why he’s helping to represent Excelsior Springs at state in boys golf: He managed his emotions at district competition.Cramer is slated to play in the Class 3 state tournament, scheduled for May 18-19 at the Sedalia Country Club. The high school junior qualified for state at the Class 3 District 4 Tournament, held May 6 at Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond. The Missouri State High School Activities Association allows the top two teams and top 13 individuals not on those teams from districts to advance to state, with exceptions made when there are ties for a district’s final qualifying spot. District 4 is sending 17 total individuals because of a five-way tie for the final qualifying spot.Cramer, who shot an 80 (+9), finished in a tie for fourth among the individual qualifiers.
