ODESSA – Senior Emma Craven was a winner when the Tigers made their May 5 trek to Odessa High School for the Missouri River Valley Conference West Division track and field meet. Twice. Craven claimed the girls 400-meter dash in 1 minute, 3.41 seconds. She also won the high jump by clearing 1.5 meters to help Excelsior Springs finish fourth in the team standings with 94 points. In other girls results, sophomore Jacey Brewer finished second in the 3,200 in 13:15.6. The 3,200 relay team also secured a second-place finish with its time of 11:04.83. Brewer took third in the 1,600, finishing in 6:03.76. The Excelsior Springs girls got four fourth-place finishes: Craven, who finished the 200 in 28.17; senior Zacalen Lohman, who ran the 3,200 in 13:48.89; freshman Lindsay Parkin, who completed the 1,600 meter run in 6:08; and junior Haley Butler in javelin with her throw of 24.35.
