RICHMOND – Luke Dale of Excelsior Springs tested his skills against some of Missouri’s elite young golfers Monday and Tuesday. Competing in the Junior Match Play Championship, Dale shot a 185 (+43) for the two qualifying rounds of the tournament, staged by the Missouri Golf Association and hosted by Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond. He finished his opening 18-hole, par-71 round Monday with a 96 (+25). Dale shot an 89 (+18) Tuesday. Dale missed the cut for Wednesday’s elimination rounds. The top 16 girls and top 16 boys finishers advanced, according to the MGA. At press time, the round of 16 had completed for both boys and girls and the quarterfinals in progress.
