Dillman’s baseball skills get him all-state nod
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers held their end-of-season banquet for varsity baseball just before one end-ofseason honor was announced: Lucas Dillman’s all-state selection.
The sophomore first baseman and pitcher was a first-team, Class 4 all state selection by the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association. Dillman’s batting stats were probably key to influencing the association’s decision. He led the Tigers in the triple-crown categories of batting average, .400; home runs, two; and RBIs, 23.
When playing first base, Dillman was credited with a .980 fielding percentage, committing just three errors on the season. He also saved numerous runs with his ability to dig the baseball out of the dirt on potentially bad throws from the infield to first.
