Dusek looks to continue producing for Tigers on baseball diamond

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Broc Dusek will probably be among the upperclassmen coach Aaron Holst will look to lead the Tigers in varsity baseball in 2022, based on what Dusek did as an underclassman in 2021. As a sophomore, Dusek played much of the season at second base, contributing 37 putouts and 44 assists. When he was not covering ground in the middle of the infield, Dusek pitched. He threw 20 ⅓ innings in 12 games for the Tigers, allowing 18 earned runs while facing 91 batters. Offensively, Dusek batted .297 with a .467 on base percentage and a .352 slugging percentage. He collected 27 hits, including three doubles and a triple, with 17 RBIs. “Being able to play with my friends that I grew up with in my hometown has been my favorite part about playing high school baseball so far,” Dusek said. Dusek also plays summer baseball. “The best part of playing competitive summer baseball throughout the years has been making new friends and getting to travel while doing it,” he said. Through…
