EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Ethan Edwards has some traveling to do next week. On May 17 and 18, the Excelsior Springs junior will play in the Class 3 state tournament at Crown Pointe Golf Club in Farmington. Edwards qualified for state by finishing in a three-way tie with Maryville’s Trevin Cunningham and Bishop LeBlond’s Davis Jungbluth Monday in the Class 3 District 4 Tournament Monday at Fairview Country Club in St. Joseph. Golfers who placed in the top 18 qualified. Edwards shot an 85 (+13) for the 18-hole, par-72 round to finish as an all-district selection. In other Excelsior Springs results, sophomore Ryan Gluhm shot a 102 (+30), followed by freshman Jacob Schmidt with a 103, freshman Gage Simmons with a 113 (+41) and junior Tristen Pekarek with a 120 (+48).
