ES boys hoopsters cap their season with awards banquet

On Sunday, Excelsior Springs varsity basketball coach Ian Burch honored his Tigers for their hard work this season. That night in the high school commons, Burch handed out awards during the team’s end-of-season banquet. Easton Ryan, a junior, received the Most Valuable Player Award. Brody Querry, a sophomore, was named Most Improved Player. In other awards news, juniors Carson Gholson and Tayvion Kennedy were named Program Lockdown Defensive Player and Program Hype Man, respectively. Juniors Klayton Glaspy and Deagan Barber also received awards, with Glaspy receiving the Toughness Award and Barber receiving the Hustle Award. “People on the outside looking in do not know the hours these young men put in and how hard they worked,” Burch said. “We are tremendously proud of them as a coaching staff and love the culture that this group has started with the program, and I am excited for next year.” The banquet completed a 2-22 season.
