ES girls drop three by double digits in four-game week
More often than not, Excelsior Springs found itself on the losing side of doubledigit varsity girls basketball games last week.
The girls went 1-3, falling to Platte County 81-14, edging Ewing Marion Kauffman 52-50, falling to Winnetonka 51-40 and then falling to 50-27 to Plattsburg.
Excelsior Springs trailed 31-2 after one quarter in the Jan. 9 road loss to Platte County. The Pirates outscored Excelsior Springs 50-12 the last three quarters.
Excelsior Springs committed 34 turnovers during the loss, with Platte County scoring 46 points off those turnovers.
Junior Baylee O’Dell led Excelsior Springs with eight points. Junior Alani Price added four points. Bella Loeffert, a first-year high schooler, scored the other two.
