ES runners hit the road, bring hardware home from meets

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Excelsior Springs cross country teams have spent their share of time on the road lately. The Tigers’ road trips have included meets at Marshall and St. Louis. On Sept. 9, senior Tyler Rumore was the boys individual winner at the Marshall Invitational, finishing nearly a minute faster than the runner-up. Freshman Silas O’Dell, the only other member of the boys team who made the trip, was the final medalist, placing 25th. The girls team ran to a meet championship, with junior Jacey Brewer taking home a third-place medal and senior Macey Chaney claiming a sixthplace medal. Senior Ava Ishmael finished 14th, running the 3.1-mile race in 26 minutes, 41 seconds. Senior Lacey Miller took 16th place in 27:27. Senior Kylie Albertson finished 19th in 28:32. Senior Breanna Williams placed 26th in 33:53. On Sept. 11, the Tigers ran at the Forest Park Cross Country Festival in St. Louis, where Rumore finished the boys race in 15th in the White Division with a time of 18…
