Excelsior Springs won’t play in its home gym much for about the first three weeks of the varsity volleyball season.

The volleyballers are scheduled to open Sept. 1 against Mid-Buchanan in Faucett. They then have road matches with Oak Grove, Benton and Harrisonville before their Sept. 10 home opener with Chillicothe.

From there, the girls are slated to play Sept. 12 in the Chillicothe Invitational Tournament, Sept. 15 in St. Joseph against Bishop LeBlond, Sept. 17 at Lexington and in a tournament Sept. 19 in Kansas City, hosted by Winnetonka. After a Sept. 21 road match with Lawson, the girls are set to play five of six matches at home.

The final stretch of the regular season consists of an Oct. 10 tournament at Savannah, an Oct. 13 home match with Maryville and an Oct. 15 road match with Savannah.
