Excelsior Springs juniors Kinley Rogers and Josie Casler fended off all challengers in a combined three events at last week’s Kearney Classic Invitational.Rogers won two events in the varsity girls portion of the April 11 track and field meet – the discus and shot put. She threw 37.74 meters to win the discus and 11.37 in the shot put.Casler took first in the javelin with her throw of 40.16.In other Excelsior Springs girls results, Rogers and first-year high schooler Reese Ryan took fourth in javelin and triple jump, respectively. Rogers threw 37.74. Ryan jumped 9.88.Juniors Kate Houck and Makenna Maring rounded out Excelsior Springs’ top-eight girls finishers. Houck placed sixth in the high jump by clearing 1.47.
