ESHS girls go 1-2 at Marshall

Excelsior Springs refused to be swept in varsity girls wrestling last week. Competing at a Jan. 24 quadrangular hosted by Marshall, the Tigers went 1-2, defeating Columbia Battle with Columbia Independent 42-30, and falling to Mexico 42-36 and Marshall 48-36. The Tigers notched three on-the-mat victories and four wins by forfeit in their win over Battle/Independent. In individual results, first-year high schooler Kenya Reberry dropped the 105-pound match by fall to Natalie Shea. Junior Kaitlynn Foster lost by second-period pin at 115 to Reagynn Childs. Senor Jaylenn Hudlemeyer defeated Kaydence McCay at 120 by first-period pin. Junior Lauren Park then pinned Raffy Cedeno at 140. Sophomore Gabby Scrivener won by first-period pin over Skyann Yocum at 145. Sophomore Mackenzie Hatfield fell to Ma’Kena Sims at 170. Sophomore Adrien Crawley lost by pin to Synaya Lewis at 190.
