ESHS grad returns to help coach Tigerettes

The Tigerettes have two new coaches – one of them a recent member of that Excelsior Springs High School dance team. Emily West, a 2021 Excelsior Springs graduate, is returning to help the Tigerettes. She will help fill the void left by Marie Mawby, who chose to step down. “The Tigerettes have always had a special place in my heart,” she said. “When I was invited back as a coach, I could not pass up the opportunity.” West has 15 years’ dancing experience through the Fine-Hammond Dance Studio, along with her four years as a Tigerette, which included two years as a squad captain. She spent her first year out of high school at MCC-Maple Woods and will transfer this fall from there to William Jewell College in Liberty, where she’ll be a part of the Crimson Dance Team.
