Excelsior Springs boys hoopsters bolstered by returning nucleus
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers start their varsity boys basketball season with multiple returning players.
Seniors Gannon Willis and Amani Robinson are two players who saw the floor in starting roles for the Tigers last season and look to contribute this year. Willis is the team’s top returning scorer, averaging 9.4 points per game and leading the Tigers with 63 rebounds.
“To be successful this year, we have to be able to work more as a team and stick together and not let things on the outside bother us,” Willis said. “We need to find ways to be strong and push our program forward.”
Fellow senior Jamon McGlaughlin returns to the program and will look to immediately contribute and help the Tigers be strong. In addition, junior Rakaii Gant will take the lead at point guard, where he saw minutes last season.
