EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers will probably see fewer fans at this year’s homecoming game than usual because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Deputy Superintendent Jaret Tomlinson stated Sept. 10 via email that those participating in the Oct. 2 Missouri River Valley Conference West Division clash with Clinton at Tiger Stadium would be limited to four tickets to give fans, per “current guidelines.”

COVID has influenced the festivities surrounding homecoming, too. As in, there will not be any. No pep assembly. No parade. No postgame dance.

“Excelsior Springs students and staff are committed to ensuring we keep school open and our activities available for all students,” Tomlinson stated Tuesday by email. “I think that having our fall sports season, especially our homecoming game, is greatly appreciated by our staff and students.”
