Anela Fletcher has two second-place medals to show for her final track meet in an Orrick uniform.The 2025 Orrick graduate was runner-up in the long jump and triple jump at Class 1 state competition. It was “a great showing,” Bearcats varsity coach Seth Smith stated Tuesday via email.Smith, however, called it “heartbreaking” that Fletcher got nudged out of first in both jumps. Still, he was “super-proud of her accomplishments this season,” he stated. Those achievements included setting the school long jump record twice, Smith noted.Fletcher’s finishes helped Orrick finish in a three-way tie with Drexel and La Plata for 10th in the girls standings with 23 points.
