Girls grapplers host ’Tonka; take to the Katy Trail

The Excelsior Springs girls wrestling program packed its share of matches into three days last week. On Dec. 13, the Tigers hosted Winnetonka, falling 36-27. They then competed in The Battle at the Katy Trail, a Dec. 15-16 tournament in Sedalia. ’TONKA RESULTS Senior Bailee Baxter picked up one of two on-the-mat wins for Excelsior Springs, claiming a 6-3 decision over Emma Crockett at 155 pounds. Kenya Reberry, a first-year high schooler, got the other win with a first-period pin at 105. In other dual results, first-year high schooler Reaghan Lawrence lost by a second-period pin to Gabrielle Sontag at 170, sophomore Adrien Crawley fell in the first period to Autumn Calvert at 190, sophomore Lillah Shue dopped her 120 match in the first period and senior Jaylenn Hudlemeyer fell in the second period to Bailey Sontag at 125.
