Excelsior Springs’ latest varsity girls basketball season was a success, according to coach JD Biermann.“We won the most games in quite some time and played a lot of tough teams,” Biermann stated Tuesday via email. “As with all games, you win some maybe you shouldn’t and lose some you shouldn’t, but I couldn’t be more proud of this team and these girls.”The Excelsior Springs girls finished 13-14. Per Missouri State High School Activities Association records, the 13 victories are the most by the program since 2009-10, when the Tigers finished 14-9.Those 13 wins included a victory by forfeit over Raytown South in what would’ve been Excelsior Springs’ regularseason finale.
