Improvement is Albertson’s emphasis for ESTF

Excelsior Springs track coach Jonah Albertson has one goal he wants his 100 athletes to achieve this season: to continuously improve.“While we celebrate medals, we also celebrate personal records and offer opportunities to each athlete, and we have had a strong start to the season,” Albertson said.Athletes that Albertson hopes to see improve on the girls side include Kinley Rogers, a returning state qualifier. The junior placed ninth in the javelin and 12th in the shot put in 2024 at Class 4 state competition.Rogers, who also will compete in the discus, is one of two returning Excelsior Springs girls qualifiers. Senior Kate Houck finished 10th in the high jump.Houck also will run distance races, as will senior Audrey Ishmael.
