Excelsior Springs track coach Jonah Albertson has one goal he wants his 100 athletes to achieve this season: to continuously improve.“While we celebrate medals, we also celebrate personal records and offer opportunities to each athlete, and we have had a strong start to the season,” Albertson said.Athletes that Albertson hopes to see improve on the girls side include Kinley Rogers, a returning state qualifier. The junior placed ninth in the javelin and 12th in the shot put in 2024 at Class 4 state competition.Rogers, who also will compete in the discus, is one of two returning Excelsior Springs girls qualifiers.
