Mahomes, Brady collectibles boost charity auction
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Gregg Williams Foundation has about $45,000 more to go toward helping area youth, thanks in part to three current superstar pro football players and one gridiron legend.
On July 9 at Excelsior Springs Golf Course, the foundation staged the Gregg Williams Tiger Classic golf tournament, followed by a sports memorabilia auction. With longtime auctioneer Troy Snelling fielding the bids, the auction raked in $17,790.
A Kansas City Chiefs helmet signed by quarterback and Super Bowl LIV Most Valuable Player Patrick Mahomes II fetched the highest bid, $2,600. A Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey signed by Super Bowl LV MVP Tom Brady was the runner-up at $2,500. The bidding started at $1,000 for both items.
