Marsh expects experienced ES boys netters to be competitive
The Tigers will be loaded with experience when they take to the courts and begin play in a new divisional setting this varsity boys tennis season.
Coach Richie Marsh will return most of the players from a team that went 9-5 overall.
“We are a team that should go into every match capable of competing because of our experience,” Marsh said.
And there are 11 seniors in the program.
“These seniors have been working hard, challenging one another to create a great amount of competition throughout the early stages of practice, and I’m excited to see where they take one another this season,” Marsh said.
The seniors include Carter Pitts, Excelsior Springs’ No. 1 singles player in 2022.
“I will have to stay consistent through practice and matches and not get complacent to keep my role as the No. 1 player,” Pitts said.
