EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers will feature a combination of youth and experience on the mat this varsity girls wrestling season. Seniors Jacey Brewer and Paige Barber are among the experienced grapplers. Both seek their first trips to the state tournament. Brewer enters 2021-2022 after posting a 22-11 junior season. Barber finished her junior year 12-14, narrowly missing the state tournament by placing fourth at sectionals. “My personal goal is to make it to the state tournament, and (I) hope the team can place at the conference tournament this year,” Brewer said. “I think the level of drilling and conditioning is going to get us to the level we need to be to accomplish our goals and more.” Barber knows getting to the next level is something she can do. “It is going to take a lot of hard work and dedication to reach my goal of making it to state, but I will be giving my 100% to get the outcome I am looking ...
