Moreland signs with Benedictine College
Chance Moreland will continue playing football after high school.
But he won’t play the same position he played in high school.
The Excelsior Springs senior, who has been the Tigers’ starting quarterback the past three seasons, recently signed his letter of intent to play for Benedictine College. Moreland, who plans to major in business management, is expected to play tight end for the Atchison, Kan.based NAIA program.
Benedictine wasn’t the only school that aggressively recruited Moreland. He also had offers from two NCAA Division II schools: Quincy (Ill.) University and Liberty-based William Jewell College.
“The atmosphere at Benedictine was amazing,” Moreland said. “They have a winning culture and strive for greatness every year, and I immediately formed relationships with their players and coaches when I was on my visit.”
