O’Dell hoops it up, hits volleyball courts at Excelsior Springs High

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Baylee O’Dell is like many Excelsior Springs students in at least one way: She plays more than one sport. O’Dell, who will be a junior this fall, is a two-time varsity letter winner in volleyball and girls basketball. During her first two years at Excelsior Springs, she also received academic all-conference honors. Like many high school athletes, O’Dell also plays club sports. From November to March, she plays club volleyball for the North Storm Volleyball Club. The team travels around the Kansas City area. “I think, the more you play with people from your school, (the more) it allows you to create better teamwork,” O’Dell said. “The fun thing about playing with my club teams is, it allows me to meet a lot of new people and play against people I may not have played against before.” With interscholastic sports set to begin again in about two months, O’Dell is participating in offseason training wit...
