Orrick teams look to snap skids
Both of Orrick’s varsity basketball teams are looking to snap losing skids Friday, when they’re scheduled to host Wellington-Napoleon in I-70 Conference action.The Orrick girls, coached by Jonathan Kinder, nearly snapped their losing streak Tuesday. Facing Sweet Springs/ Malta Bend that night, they fell 54-50. It was their seventh straight loss. Their last victory occurred Jan. 22, when they trounced Penney of Hamilton 47-25.The Orrick boys (8-13) have dropped two straight ballgames and three out of their last four. That stretch includes a 5445 loss Feb. 7 to Lone Jack and a 73-66 loss Tuesday to Sweet Springs – both on the road.The two Orrick varsity basketball teams are set to finish regular-season play with two games next week – Feb. 17 at Norborne and Feb. 18 against visiting Concordia.
