Excelsior Springs might’ve turned a corner over the weekend in varsity volleyball, based on what coach Cindy Price saw during tournament play in Chillicothe.“We’ve struggled at times this season and allowed teams to get too many points without breaking their momentum, but this weekend, the girls played with more poise than we’ve seen,” Price stated Sunday via email.The poised Tigers finished third at Chillicothe. They swept Brookfield 2-0, winning the first set 25-9 and the second 25-10 for their first match victory this season. They split with St. Joseph Christian, losing 25-21 and then winning 25-19.
