Rogers sweeps district throws; qualifies for sectional TF meet
Kinley Rogers pulled off a trifecta at Class 4 District 8 track and field competition.The Excelsior Springs junior won three girls events at the May 17 meet in Kansas City – the javelin, discus and shot put. She won the javelin by throwing 37.06 meters, the discus by throwing 34.86 and the shot put by throwing 11.16.With her sweep of the throwing events, Rogers qualified for Class 4 Sectional 4 competition, slated for Saturday at Blue Springs High School. Per Missouri State High School Activities Association regulations, the top four finishers in each event at districts qualified for sectionals.Rogers was one of two Excelsior Springs district champions.
