Shooting streaky as ES girls split two

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers found the bucket early and often, then could not get their shots to fall in last week’s two varsity girls basketball games. The shots fell in a 54-22 Jan. 11 home win over Ewing Marion Kauffman, a Kansas City-based charter school. Excelsior Springs jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished it, leading 17-10 after one quarter, 33-15 at halftime and 51-22 after three. The Tigers finished off the Blue Knights with a 3-0 fourth quarter. Sophomore Alani Price led the Tigers with a doubledouble of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Senior Mallory Millsap also reached double figures with 12 points. Millsap’s stat line also included five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Senior Ashlon McIntosh made her season debut by scoring 10 points. McIntosh also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists.
