For Excelsior Springs coach Brett McKenzie, the Tigers’ 1-0 loss Sept. 13 to The Barstow School continued a concerning trend with his varsity soccer squad.“We’ve kind of been starting a little slow recently,” McKenzie said minutes after his team’s finale in its own tournament. “And that’s something that we’ve got to find a way to fix. We let them have a little too much time on the ball.
