Malaya would have a good chance of advancing.”~ Richie MarshA pair of Excelsior Springs varsity girls tennis players will soon take a road trip to Springfield.Shelby Stodden and Malaya Tedesco will represent Excelsior Springs in doubles in Class 1 state tournament competition, slated for Oct. 24 at the Cooper Tennis Complex. The two seniors secured their spot in the sectionals portion of the tournament by placing second recently in the singles and doubles portion of the Class 1 District 8 Tournament.Entering districts as the No. 2 seed, the pair defeated doubles teams from Chillicothe and Trenton, along with Savannah’s No. 2 doubles team.
