Stout, Hedding place in top 20 at Blue Division meet

Excelsior Springs juniors Kirsten Stout and Liam Hedding each brough home top-20 finishes from the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division cross country championships Oct. 19 at Kearney.Stout placed 13th in the varsity girls race, running the 3.1-mile course in 23 minutes, 2.7 seconds. She was Excelsior Springs’ lone varsity girls runner.Hedding placed 15th in 19:17.5 for the Excelsior Springs boys. In other varsity boys results, first-year high schooler Lane Collins placed 21st in 20:03.2 and junior Conrad Purnell took 29th in 23:05.6.In team results, Smithville won the boys title and Kearney won the girls title.
