EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – One path many would-be collegiate studentathletes pursue to take their athletic dreams to the next level is playing multiple sports at the high school level. Excelsior Springs sophomore Bailey Carder is one person who is pursuing that path. Carder was a three-sport athlete as a freshman, playing softball, basketball and soccer. She expects to continue playing those sports again this year. Carder’s two favorite sports are softball and soccer. Outside of her school seasons, she plays on competitive traveling softball and soccer teams. During the spring and summer, Carder plays for the Mayhem 16U softball team as a pitcher and an outfielder. Her competitive teams throughout the years have allowed her to build friendships and travel around the Midwest while playing the game she loves, she said.
