Tigers get rolled, become latest victims in Odessa’s winning streak

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – On Oct. 16, Odessa entered Tiger Stadium with a 26- game winning streak in varsity football. The Bulldogs extended that streak to 27 games with a 47-0 win over the Tigers. After receiving the opening kickoff, Excelsior Springs held the football for 3 minutes, 16 seconds, but only moved 8 yards on six plays before having to punt. From there, the Bulldogs established themselves on the ground by rushing seven times for 75 yards, capped off by a 46-yard TD run by junior running back Blake Heitman. The next possession for the Tigers was short-lived. Sophomore quarterback Chance Moreland lost a fumble on the third play on the Tigers’ 33-yard line. The Bulldogs took seven plays to travel those 33 yards, with junior running back Shon Badder punching it in from 1-yard out.
