Tigers go 1-4 in packed week of late-season ballgames

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers had another full week of varsity baseball last week. The Tigers packed in four games, going 1-3, with losses to Pleasant Hill, Pembroke Hill and Willard. Their victory was over Clinton. Excelsior Springs opened the week May 3 by dropping its Missouri River Valley Conference West Division matchup with visiting Pleasant Hill 10-2. It was a one-run ballgame until Excelsior Springs’ pitching and defense fell apart in the sixth inning, giving up seven runs on five hits, and committing two errors. The Tigers knocked out six hits. Senior Jalen Sofia; sophomores Lucas Dillman, Broc Dusek, Mason Danner and Colson Moore singled, and freshman Micah Danner doubled. Moore took the pitching loss for the Tigers, lasting three innings.
