Excelsior Springs is “trending in a good direction” in varsity baseball as April turns into May, according to coach Aaron Holst.Indeed, the Tigers were 14-8 overall and had won four straight entering this week. Their winning streak included a 10-3 win over William Chrisman April 25 to start a threegame homestand.“Some situational hitting things that we’ve been spending a lot of time with kind of paid off in two good innings tonight,” Holst said minutes after the victory.Excelsior Springs pounded out 10 hits – situational or otherwise – to pull away from Chrisman.
