Brody Querry and seven of his teammates were looking to continue their senior season of Excelsior Springs varsity baseball this week.The Tigers were slated to play Oak Grove Wedensday at Excelsior Springs for the Class 4 District 15 Tournament title, with the winner to advance to sectionals. The District 15 champion will play the District 16 champion May 26.Excelsior Springs has advanced to a district championship game five consecutive seasons. The Tigers won three straight Class 4 district titles – two in District 15, one in District 13 – then fell last season to Benton of St. Joseph in the District 15 title game.For Querry, who graduated high school last week and was in the program for the 2023 and 2024 championship runs, playing for a title in 2026 is more special because of the circumstances involved.“It being my senior year, it’s really win or go home,” he said. “If we lose, I don’t get to put this jersey back on again....
