Excelsior Springs High School (ESHS) track coach Jonah Albertson and his Tigers ran away from the competition at the Highway 92 Meet.The Excelsior Springs boys cruised to a team title at the April 17 competition at Tiger Stadium with 262 points – 159 points ahead of runner-up Lathrop. The Excelsior Springs girls also were team champions, tallying 226 points – 108 points head of runner-up Kansas City Northeast.Both ESHS squads won 10 events. Individual girls champions were Kate Houck, Elizabeth McCoy, Reese Ryan, Kinley Rogers and Josie Casler.Houck, McCoy, Ryan and Rogers won two events each. Houck, a junior, won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 44.95 seconds; and the high jump by clearing 1.52 meters.McCoy, a sophomore, won the 100 high hurdles and the 300 low hurdles.
