Two Tigers play all-star volleyball

KANSAS CITY – The end of Excelsior Springs’ varsity volleyball season in October did not end the careers of seniors Kyli Crowley and Rylie Stottlemyre. Crowley and Stottlemyre were selected by the Greater Kansas City Volleyball Coaches Association to play for Team Missouri in the annual MO/KAN Small-Class All-Star match. The event features high school seniors from both sides of the state line in a three-set contest. “I felt honored to be picked and excited to be able to play volleyball with girls from other schools,” Crowley said. Team Missouri, led by Cass-Midway coach C.J. Chamberlin, met for a Nov. 20 practice. On Sunday, the two all-star teams met at Avila University. Team Missouri won the first set 25-18 and the second set 25- 21, then dropped the third set 25-18. “It was a very fun experience to be able to play with girls that I had (not) been able to experience playing with before,” Crowley said. ...
