Vehicle trouble kindles longing for train travel

And especially for sports-related events.I’ve felt that way for years. But a recent sports-related incident and some reflections on my travels have spurred me to comment on it.On March 1, I covered the Class 2 District 4 Tournament for boys wrestling in Excelsior Springs for The Excelsior Springs Standard and its sister newspaper, the Richmond News. En route, the diagnostic trouble code light or “check engine” light started flashing. My truck began shaking like it had been outside during one of the area’s recent cold snaps and forgotten to wear a parka, if motorized vehicles wore parkas – or any kind of coats other than paint, for that matter....
