Excelsior Springs coaches, studentathletes and fans are making the transition from fall sports into winter sports. Winter sports practices began recently at Excelsior Springs High School, per Missouri State High School Activities Association regulations. Like other recent winter seasons, the Tigers will field teams in four sports: boys basketball, girls basketball, boys wrestling and girls wrestling. For varsity boys basketball, the Tigers will be under new leadership, with Ian Burch succeeding Chad Wright, who has left the district. Burch’s assistants will be Jaxon White, David Stalder and Trenton Edwards. JD Biermann returns to lead Excelsior Springs in varsity girls basketball.
