Excelsior Springs’ winning varsity softball season got capped with an awards banquet Tuesday night. Convening with her Tigers at the high school, coach Megan Gilbertson gave awards to Josie Casler, Alyssa Dean, Kinley Rogers, Kayden Rogers and Keira Romazon.

During the team’s end-of-season banquet at the high school, Price gave out the Good Teammate, Most Improved, No Fear, Hustle, Future Coach, Volleyball IQ, Team Leader and Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.

Wartner nabs starting role in freshman season at Park

Excelsior Springs graduate Mason Wartner exceeded his expectations in his first season of men’s soccer at Park University. Wartner, who graduated high school in May, had a goal of making the traveling squad with the Parkville-based, NAIAaffiliated university, he said.
