Schwab earns Dean’s List honor

Body An Excelsior Springs native has earned academic honors from Southern New Hampshire University for the Spring 2025 term. Skylar Schwab was named to the university’s Dean’s List, a recognition reserved for full-time undergraduate students who achieve a grade-point average between 3.

FBI marks 45 years of fighting terrorism

Body The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is marking the 45th anniversary of its first Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF). Formed in New York in 1980, the first JTTF became a model for law enforcement cooperation across the nation.

Local residential fire claims one life

Body An early morning house fire on Stratton Street claimed the life of one person last week after flames tore through a residential structure on the city’s north side. Excelsior Springs Fire Department units were dispatched to the scene at 5:23 a.m.

Body The Excelsior Springs Police Department reported the following arrests handled recently by the department. Wednesday, April 30 At 5:45 p.m., Scott Brown II, 38, was arrested for outside warrant service.
