When Excelsior Springs closing pitcher Klayton Glaspy had to finish his save opportunity against Winnetonka in the Excelsior Springs Tournament, he kept his cool. Glaspy and his fellow Tigers were leading 3-1 in the top of the seventh inning.

Former Fire Chief Honored

IN HONOR OF recently deceased former Excelsior Springs fire chief William “Bill” T. Stewert, the fire department and Excelsior Springs Police Department provided escort for the procession. The departments paid tribute to Stewart at graveside services at Masonic Cemetery. Stewert, who passed away March 11 at 84 years of age, served the community at the city fire department for nearly 47 years.

New coach leads ES girls onto soccer pitch

A new coaching era is underway with the Excelsior Springs varsity girls soccer program. Led by Brett McKenzie, who also serves as assistant coach for the boys program, the girls opened Monday with a road loss to Mid-Buchanan.
