It’s appearing Missouri voters will get to decide in November whether it’s time to legalize recreational marijuana. As the Missouri Independent and other sources have reported, Legal Missouri 2022 submitted roughly 400,000 signatures in May to the Secretary of State’s Office to get the issue placed on the ballot.

District positioned for child health clinic funding

It appears the Excelsior Springs School District has secured some funding for the child health care clinic slated to open at the Early Childhood Center (ECC). Heather Gross, assistant superintendent, announced during the Board of Education’s June 27 meeting at the Support Services Center that the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Head Start program has offered a $198,000 donation toward the facility.

City officials agree to study lime disposal options

Excelsior Springs is examining how it should dispose of lime from its water treatment plant. Per approval by the City Council June 21 at the Hall of Waters, the city has hired Lamp Rynearson to conduct a best professional judgment (BPJ) analysis regarding the issue.
